The Brush That Awakened My Light

A tribute to Eva Maria Hunt and the soul art that changed my healing journey.

Over a decade ago, I experienced something that changed the entire course of my life.

It was a single Reiki session.

At the time, I didn’t know what Reiki was. I only knew that I was overwhelmed, burned out, and carrying far too much pain and pressure. I had always been a sensitive soul. I could feel other people’s emotions. I longed to be free, but I didn’t yet know how to find that freedom.

And then I met Eva Maria Hunt.

She offered me a Reiki session. I said yes. That one hour opened something in me that I had never felt before… Calm. Safety. A sense of being held by something greater. That was the beginning of my love for energy healing.

Eleven years later, I am now a Reiki Master of Light. I practise four different lineages of Reiki. I have worked with many clients around the world. I run a powerful membership community, Reiki Renewal Rising®, and a YouTube channel where I offer healing tools every week.

But that first experience with Eva was the spark.

Eva is an intuitive artist, healer, and energy reader. She creates what she calls soul-infused art – paintings that are channeled, healing, and alive with energy. These aren’t just beautiful images to hang on the wall. They are frequency portals. They hold intention. And they hold you.

A few years ago, Eva and I reconnected. I commissioned her to create a bespoke painting for me. Not just any painting… a visual representation of my Higher Self.

We met on Zoom. She guided me into a deep meditation. She asked questions, gently held space, and listened as I described a vision I didn’t even fully understand yet. Together, we explored it – colours, symbols, feelings, light. She then went away, tuned into my energy, and began creating.

What she painted was beyond anything I expected.

It was a piece that felt alive. She captured the light of my soul. The magical forest scene she created speaks to something very deep within me. There is a golden glow that rises from the earth, igniting the plants, lighting up my chakras, connecting heaven and earth through my own energy body. It’s like a meeting point between timelines. Between the Mahesha I once was, and the Mahesha I continue becoming.

Now, that painting lives in my healing room. I meditate in front of it often. I call in my higher self, and I feel instantly connected. It grounds me. It reminds me. It brings me home.
