In the pursuit of optimal health and vitality, I stumbled upon a revolutionary approach through the teachings of Dr. Mindy Pelz and her book “Fast Like a Girl.” Embracing a fasting lifestyle coupled with a ketogenic diet has not only transformed my physique by shedding 45 pounds, but it has also revitalised my energy levels, improved my overall health, and brought about a myriad of positive changes. Several months ago, burdened by unexplained tummy pains and enduring persistent bloating, I stumbled upon Dr. Mindy Pelz’s teachings. Despite numerous medical consultations, scans, and attempts with various medications, my discomfort remained unresolved. I resembled someone five months pregnant, plagued by relentless pain. Exhausting all conventional avenues, including consultations with different doctors, endoscopy, and multiple scans, left me with no answers. It was a period of immense frustration and confusion about my health. However, the turning point came six weeks into adopting a fasting lifestyle. Astonishingly, my excruciating pains vanished, and my bloated appearance transformed into a semblance of a flat tummy. This marked a pivotal moment, instilling confidence in the efficacy of a fasting lifestyle.
Fasting Lifestyle and Ketogenic Diet
My journey began with a 16:8 fasting regimen (16 hours of fasting, 8 hours of eating), gradually progressing to longer fasting periods like 18:6, 24 hours, 36 hours, 48 hours, including 72-hour fasts. Accompanying this fasting lifestyle is a commitment to a ketogenic diet, which involves consuming low-carbohydrate, high-(healthy) fat & protein meals. The results have been nothing short of astonishing – not only have I shed excess weight, but my energy levels have soared, my skin has improved, and my overall well-being has taken a positive turn.

Fasting, the deliberate abstention from food and/or fluids for therapeutic purposes, has roots deeply embedded in religious and spiritual practices throughout history.
